Are you a set-it-and-forget-it saver?
This one’s for you

Turn everyday purchases into everyday savings, automatically.

Debit Card Roundup is a simple, stress-free way to grow your savings with every purchase. Whenever you tap, swipe, or shop online with your debit card, your total is rounded up to the nearest dollar, and the spare change is automatically transferred from your primary checking account to the savings or secondary checking account of your choice.

How It Works

  1. You use your debit card
Swipe, tap or shop online—just like you normally do.
  2. We round up your purchase
If you spend $5.25, we round it up to $6.00.
  3. The difference goes to savings
That $0.75 is automatically transferred from your checking to your chosen savings account.

If your purchase ends in a whole dollar amount, we round up to the next whole dollar, which maximizes your savings. You will see two separate transactions, one for the purchase and one for the Roundup.

Purchase Total Roundup Total Amount Debited
$1.50 $0.50 $2.00
$5.25 $0.75 $6.00
$27.41 $0.59 $28.00
$99.99 $0.01 $100.00
$100.00 $1.00 $101.00

Frequently Asked Questions:

{beginAccordion}

What accounts can I send my Roundups to?

You can select a variety of accounts to send your Roundup to. It can be a savings or checking account, including any money market account or a Vacation, Back To School, or Christmas Club account.

Will Roundup Utilize Courtesy Pay, or overdraft my account?

NW Plus Credit Union will not round up purchases posted for any transaction you do not have sufficient funds for in your checking account and the Roundup transfer will be cancelled for that transaction. Transfers will resume the following day, or on the next day that sufficient funds are available.

Is there a charge every time I have a Round-Up charge, or a monthly fee?

Never! Roundup is just another way we can add value to membership with NW Plus CU.

What if my Roundup amounts take my account below what is needed to pay another bill?

This is a possibility with this feature, as Roundup does not look at pending payments, or future autopayments before it transfers funds.

To avoid this possibility, we encourage you to set up an Overdraft path from any of your existing savings or checking accounts, including the account you have deposited the Roundup funds into. Learn more about how NW Plus CU handles Overdraft and overdraft protection options here.

Can I stop the Round Up feature if I don’t like it?

Yes, anytime! You can contact us in person, over the phone or send us a secured message from Online Banking if you no longer want to participate.  We’ll only ask you to fill out a new enrollment form if you want to participate in the future.

How do I sign up for this amazing feature?

It's easy! Ask your Teller next time you're in the branch to enroll in Debit Card Roundup for the accounts of your choice.
